5 TIPS to GET OUT OF THAT HOUSE!
Because everyone needs a reminder of something simple to make their day better in reality (especially wives and moms). š
In my online commentary, I have noticed there are a lot of bored, spun-up, or depressed Stay at Home Moms, with a common denominator being, that they simply arenāt leaving the house with the children enough. I think any wife and mother who hasnāt left the house for a few days would not only drive herself crazy but her family too. That doesnāt have to be you!
5 TIPS TO GET OUT OF THAT HOUSE
1. Have a car tote full of essentials packed in the car for those times you just GOTTA GO! This tote should include: perishable snacks, a few articles of emergency clothing, a box or roll of diapers, jumbo pack baby wipes, water stored in metal containers, sunscreen, empty bottles, and formula. (Search ācar trunk organizerā on Amazon for totes.)
2. Pack the car the night before an outing if you have the time. This makes getting out the door exponentially faster without delving into your GOTTA GO supply tote. This should only take you 30 min or less. If it takes you longer, you're overthinking. You can also lay out your clothes and the kids' clothes the night before.
3. You can cook the morning of or pack lunch the night before if you want to penny-pinch for an outing. Finances should not be why you cannot leave the house. Outings CAN be free and would look like: walking around your neighborhood, a local park, or a splash pad with food from home.
4. For Moms who want to invest in their outings, look at local childrenās entertainment places for ANNUAL MEMBERSHIPS. Zoos, Discovery Centers, Play Centers, State Park Memberships, and Museums are the cheapest. Research which memberships are the most cost-effective for your family. Memberships will pay for themselves with enough outings, and you can even schedule them on a specific weekday for structure. Ex: On Wednesday mornings, we go to the zoo.
5. Everything you do should be accessible within a 15-30 minute drive for your regular outings. Driving further can cause unnecessary stress if the children are having an emotional day. If you cannot find activities within a 30-minute driving distance, you likely arenāt looking into the local nooks and crannies for hidden gems that the family will enjoy.
I would add that many public libraries now rent passes to local destinations like gardens, childrenās museums and zoos. That can be a handy way to save money, especially when you arenāt sure how long young kids will be able to handle the trip.
